WORKSHOPS

Ballet Folklorico TONATIUH is sponsor by Teens in Action, and directed by Carmen Hernandez. The Ballet has over 45 members participating in different levels: New beginners, Children, Youth and Adults. This program provide a healthy, safe and inspirational environment in which children and young adults are given the opportunity to learn about the beauty of Mexican Culture through workshops and traditional regional dances. The discipline we demand within our group is the discipline that prepares our youth for their educational pursuits. Unlike other programs we do not expect the dancers to buy their own costumes. Tonatiuh provides the costumes for each performance. This ensures that all dancers regardless of economic status, can participate. Each year costumes are added.

SKATE PART

These rock shows give teens an opportunity to be unique and express themselves through their music and have great support from family and friends. Teens from all around El Paso love coming together to a center where they can feel accepted and have fun by exposing their love and passion for music without being judged. Both local musicians and traveling musicians play these events. We raise money with these rock shows to benefit others in need such as fundraisers for funerals, clothing, food baskets, and other needs.

Youth and parents get together at the youth center to provide food baskets to low income family from the El Paso Region. We have being partners with El Pasoans Fighting Hunger since 2009
